In a post-COVID world where record labels were no longer throwing around 5 figure budgets for music videos, the Blonde lyric video was done on a tight budget. I often watch gear demos on Youtube - for guitars, amps, pedals, recording equipment, and someone who changed the landscape of how gear demos looked and felt was Knobs. The Blonde lyric video was inspired by Knobs’ quirky flatlay style, and various objects creating moments as the song progresses like streamers, confetti, bubbles, and a cheap RGB party light add to the fun, carefree feel of the song. The video was done in one take, but felt like it was lacking, so the lyric title screens, ala Wes Andersen style, were added in post to help dramatize select moments.
